Secure Your Future with Trezor
Welcome to the starting point of your journey into secure cryptocurrency ownership. Set up your Trezor hardware wallet in minutes and take full control of your digital assets.
Why You Need a Hardware Wallet
In the rapidly evolving world of cryptocurrency, security is paramount. Unlike software wallets (hot wallets) that are constantly connected to the internet and vulnerable to hacks, a hardware wallet like Trezor keeps your private keys offline (cold storage).
Trezor pioneered the hardware wallet industry, creating a device that isolates your sensitive data from potential online threats. By using Trezor, you ensure that your digital identity and assets remain yours, protected by state-of-the-art cryptography and a user-friendly interface.
- Complete isolation from online malware
- Physical confirmation for every transaction
- Recovery seed backup for total peace of mind

Setting Up Your Trezor
Follow these simple steps to initialize your device and secure your assets.
Unbox and Connect
When you first receive your Trezor package, inspect it carefully. Ensure the holographic seal on the box (for Model One) or the USB port (for Model T) is intact. If the package appears tampered with, do not use the device and contact support immediately.
Once verified, use the provided USB cable to connect your Trezor device to your computer. The device screen should light up, displaying the Trezor logo or a welcome message.
Install Trezor Suite
Trezor Suite is the interface you'll use to manage your wallet. It is available as a desktop application for Windows, macOS, and Linux, or as a web app.
Go to the official download page and install the version appropriate for your operating system. Using the desktop application is recommended for enhanced security and phishing protection.
Initialize & Update Firmware
Open Trezor Suite and follow the on-screen instructions. Your device is shipped without firmware installed to ensure you are running the latest, authentic software.
Click "Install Firmware" and wait for the process to complete. Your device will reboot. Once updated, you will be prompted to create a new wallet.
Create Recovery Seed
Your Trezor will generate a unique sequence of 12 to 24 words known as the Recovery Seed. This seed is the master key to your funds. If your device is lost, damaged, or stolen, you can use this seed to restore your wallet on a new device.
Write down the words exactly as they appear on the device screen onto the provided recovery seed cards. Never store your recovery seed digitally (no photos, no cloud storage, no password managers).
Set Up PIN Protection
To prevent unauthorized physical access to your device, set a strong PIN. The PIN can be up to 50 digits long, but a 4-6 digit PIN is sufficient for most users.
The PIN entry method on Trezor Model One uses a blind matrix on your computer screen for added security against keyloggers. On Model T, you enter the PIN directly on the touchscreen.
Start Managing Crypto
Congratulations! Your device is now set up. You can now use Trezor Suite to receive, send, and trade cryptocurrencies.
To receive funds, click "Receive" in the Suite, verify the address on your Trezor device screen, and then share the address with the sender. Always verify the address on the physical device display.
